Guiding importers and exporters in home decoration and home textiles to develop their business and brands. She encourages companies to innovate from their very own identity, while understanding what is going on in the world around us and what truly moves people. Working closely with companies, she creates custom-made strategies and hands-on directions for communication and product design.
Irene loves handmade products. She founded craftscurator.com to share her view and thoughts on global crafts, handmade design and developments in the European market.
Co-creation and matchmaking is key for Craftscurator, having a large worldwide network of crafts producers and exporters as well as European brands, retailers and importers.
Irene has worked as a designer for over 15 years, creating commercial products, concepts and brands for companies such as De Bijenkorf, Wehkamp.nl and Bol.com. A full list of clients can be seen on the Projects page.
She has traveled to all corners of the world since 2001 to work with exporters of handmade products. She has developed product ranges and marketing strategies for the European market with small and medium global businesses.
Irene believes social and sustainable values should be at the core of every brand, and works with businesses to translate those into products and communication. She has worked on commercializing crafts for Fair Trade Original, CBI and Butterfly Works.
Craftscurator believes in teamwork and co-creation, working with a large network of professionals on projects.
